Subscriptions Policy

Under the Scout Association’s Policy Organisation and Rules all members of
the Scout Group are required to pay membership subscriptions. These
subscriptions contribute to the Group’s running costs and activities (although additional fees may be payable for camps and other events).
The subscriptions also cover the National Membership fee paid to the Scout Association.

1. Subs (subscription fees) is an annual membership payment of £110. This payment is split into 11 monthly payments (July excluded).

2. Subs are due on the last session of each month.

3. Subs can be paid by direct debit or one off payments through the Parent Portal (OSM) system.

4. Parents or Guardians should contact the section leader if they would like to pay by an alternative method.

5. Leaders time is better spent with scout activities than chasing payments, so we ask that child’s subs are paid on time.

6. If you miss two payments, a reminder e-mail will be sent by the group, requesting immediate payment.

7. If three payments are missed, the child will cease to be a member of the Group and their membership will be terminated in accordance with the Scout Association’s Policy Organisation and Rules (POR15.8a).

8. Members excluded from the Group can apply to re-join the group. If there is a waiting list in operation, their name will be added to this. There is no

guarantee of a future place.

9. Re-joining is on the condition that all outstanding subscription payments prior to exclusion are up to date.

10. Parents or guardians should contact the Section Leader if there are any circumstances that we should be aware of which is preventing payment of subscriptions.

11. Scouting is for all, irrespective of financial means. Support towards subscription fees may be available in cases of financial hardship. The Group's Subscription Hardship Policy is as follows: initially please contact your Section Leader who will refer your case to the Executive Committee which will view each case individually and confidentially.
